Kate Dearden: New Action on Redress for Postmasters
Thousands of postmasters affected by the Horizon and Capture scandals are set to benefit from new action on redress. The Government has today announced a new package of measures to provide pathways to conclusion for existing schemes, strengthen scrutiny and fairness, and investigate pre-Horizon software.
Horizon Family Member Redress Scheme open for pre-registrations
Family members affected by the Post Office Horizon scandal can now pre-register for the scheme, helping to ensure their claim is prioritised once applications formally open.
Lost Chances Wellbeing Walk – Youlgreave
On Sunday 14th September, a handful of Lost Chances members came together in the scenic village of Youlgreave for a refreshing wellbeing walk. It was a welcome change to meet face-to-face rather than over a screen, enjoying the fresh air, beautiful surroundings, and meaningful conversations.
Generous Donation from SPM Alun Lloyd Jones
Lost Chances has received a generous dontation from former subpostmaster Alun Lloyd Jones.
He, like many others, has suffered a great deal, and unbearably has endured the loss of two of his children, and supports us in his children's names.
Inquiry Final Report Vol 1 published
Many former Postmasters and their families were at the Oval cricket ground in London to hear Sir Wyn Williams formally publish the first volume of his report into the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry.
It focuses on the human impact of the scandal and the still on-going compensation issues.
In a significant development, he has recommended that children and families of Posmasters should be included in redress and restorative justice.

Hear Our Voice Choir - BGT
Hear Our Voice is more than just a choir—it’s a community of around 40 individuals whose lives were upended by the Post Office Horizon scandal. Members include former sub-postmasters and a group of the adult children from Lost Chances. The group came together online via Zoom first, before meeting in person to deliver a powerful rendition of “Falling Down” on Britain’s Got Talent
Lost Chances and Fujitsu's Paul Patterson at the Inquiry
The Lost Chances team attended a Phase 7 hearing at the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry on 11th November 2024 at Aldwych House, where Paul Patterson, CEO Europe, Fujitsu was recalled to give evidence. Ms Patrick, a barrister for Hudgells Solicitors, was able to put questions to him about working with Lost Chances.
